Friday Knight News
A forward from my book: Principle Based Warrior Arts. This one is from my buddy Gregg. I first learned of Gregg Cooper back in the early 1990 through mutual acquaintances. I was impressed with what I had heard about him and the work he did while serving under a well know American hero (Oliver North). I did not get to know Gregg until 2004. My friend Gregg Cooper is the top of the three most knowledgeable men I know when it comes to long range shooting. He is a Marine Recon shooter who served his country with distinction and honor and he has also served as a law enforcement officer with me. He had my back and stood beside me when times got rough. Gregg lives out by the reservation where his family serves in law enforcement; he is an avid hunter and an outdoor enthusiast. I can’t give any details about his career but I can say that our country was safer when he and men like him stood guard over us. He is thinking about writing a book and hopefully he will get clearance to tell his story or at least some parts of it.
"I've been a police chief since 2003 and before that I served in the United States Marine Corps-Naval Intelligence from 1981 to 1987 (MOS 8541/0321 scout /sniper). I would like to recommend R. D. Lawrence and his new book “Principle-Based Warriors Arts”. I got to know R David Lawrence in 2004 when I was a police chief. I have met very few men of equal status in regards to being a true professional and family man. Seventeen other officers and I worked for and with him as he was a Constable and a city council member.
During this time I got to know him not only as a boss but as a true friend and we served together with great pride. I have met many men who talk the talk but can't walk the walk; this man does both to perfection as a professional, a civic leader and a martial art instructor. It is my opinion you would be hard-pressed to find someone of equal stature, he is truly a man among men.
This is a man whose belief in the world of martial arts runs as deep as the deepest oceans of the sea. From my point of view R.D. Lawrence is a consummate martial artist and a man of integrity. I would dare say that to him it is a religion and he does not distinguish between age, color or gender. It has been my honor to serve with him and call him my friend. I've been on many journeys in my life and I have been around the world many times and can say that I have been lucky to have met such a man. It is truly an honor to be able to call him a friend, and that is a word that I do not take lightly.
Thanks for always having my six your friend Gregg Cooper"
