Warriors of Perception Summary
This is the exciting conclusion of the Dream Walker
series (Conversations with a Sage; Xander and the Assassins Gift; Warriors of
Perception) where we find the now grown boy genius begins to realize his
potential. Even as he continues his lifelong pursuit of martial arts mastery
and expanding his abilities with his dream meditation his experiments to expand
our technology could cause global shifts in power. This factor more than
anything else seems to be the source of conflict between his unknown father and
his father’s nefarious agent, Jim Richards who has been trying to coerce Xander
to their cause. Jim Richards is proved to be the man behind the numerous
capture attempts on him and his friend, plus Xander’s childhood kidnapping, and
the death of several of his friends and associates.
In this book we find that Xander Davidson and his
young wife have virtually dropped off the map trying to elude various elements
from that secret society. Jim Richards begins to feel a shift in power and we
see him dredge up old adversaries from Xander’s past and we watch as Richards’s
also recruits a voodoo priestess to this cause. We see Xander undergo heart
wrenching and soul draining conflicts as he experiences even greater
adversaries. Along the way they find further proof that this group has
connections not only above the law but with extraterrestrial as well. Tim
Collins, Xander’s only (living) remaining original childhood friend and his girlfriend
(Sally), help the group coordinate, locate, and elude pursuit. Along the way
they are able to recruit Eric, Xander’s injured Army veteran step-brother that
was last seen in the first book “Conversations with a Sage”.
There are dramatic changes in the lives of the
martial arts masters that have helped train and develop Xander’s skills. Higa,
sensei reveals deeper level secrets to the young protégé while his recently
discovered grandfather Harley help keeps the young adventurers on track. Xander’s
(father figure and first sensei), Mark Smith’s military background and
connections once again plays a key role in keeping the group alive and free. We
get to watch as the group continues to try to elude the reach of Jim Richards
as they seek some form of justice against a man above the law.
