Remember Those That Inspire

Friday Knight News

Principle Based Warriors Arts

The New Year is almost upon us and my book principle based martial arts would not have been possible if not for the insights and influence of many warriors that have influenced and illuminated the path before me. It is true that everyone we meet helps shape us, teaches or directs us in one way or another but some people serve as a catalysis that helps propel us further forward upon the path than we could have achieved just by walking it alone.

Musashi wrote the Go Rin no Sho that was a influence and served as a type of inspiration for my work. My sensei and kohai with their years of work in law enforcement and street ready martial art instruction that helped keep me and the general public safer during my tenure in law enforcement. Great martial art instructors (most notably Tony Annesi and James Williams), that I have studied with in seminar/s and who have written me over the years giving an example, inspiration, insight and encouragement. Friends and peers in the arts from other styles or systems that have been sounding boards and advisers (Steve Smith, and Tommy Carruthers), both men have written me often with words of encouragement and more.

I also appreciated Adam Chan (a peerless martial art researcher), Gregg Cooper (a true shooter, defender of freedom, and police officer), Matt Grey (an early student, shooting instructor, and  police officer), and  Tom Manson (my sensei, and police training officer), Tyson Ray (student, security specialist and military man), all of whom wrote a introductions to this book. Then of course I have to list my wife who continues to put up with me, thanks for her tireless and unrecognized efforts to make me come off somewhat palatable.

My stories are about martial arts adventures that are intertwined with paranormal or supernatural events. The following links are to the Kindle version books from the "Dream Walker” series. Our adventurers find themselves on a quest where they are confronted with both conspiracy and mystery. Their challenge is to unite their mind and body skills together utilizing what they have learned in the martial arts with the transcendental power of dream mediation. They attempt to do this while they are trying to make a life for themselves and elude those that seek to use and control them.
