Cha Cha Changes

FRIDAY KNIGHT NEWS

Our first step on an inward path into spiritual awakening is like a pond of thought. Knowing this it is easier to understand why the dojo, ashram, or park bench that you choose to start the journey is important. You may find yourself wishing for someone to help lead you down the path to the pond, but do not worry because when you’re ready a master will appear. "There are no coincidences," my sensei also often said.

Whichever venue you choose, brings you closer to the way. I use the dojo as my example as this is where my greatest discoveries began. I had a prior spiritual experience before coming to the dojo, but my understanding of what was transpiring began in the dojo. The dojo is the place of the way and the dojo you train in will always be special to you. Even the smell of the dojo will evoke a sense of peace when you enter the door. Although it will be a daily battle to become yielding. The most difficult part of dojo life is letting go of the ego. Ego is our personal hedge over the fear of inadequacy.

It is hard to come to a dojo and relinquish control of your ego, but you must accept this if you wish to find the deeper meaning of the martial arts. Students must learn to yield to the teacher, but the students usually don't know or understand that the teacher is also constantly yielding to the students. The teacher does this in order to gently guide them over their rough patches. Everything we do in the dojo serves a dual purpose. These skills hold the secrets of the mystics to help us grow. Many teachers and students alike have been delighted to find that there is no coincidences. Within each and every style people have found these simple moves have the foundation to help us to grow with the changes we encounter in life.

My stories are about martial arts adventures that are intertwined with paranormal or supernatural events. The following links are to the Kindle version books from the "Dream Walker” series. Our adventurers find themselves on a quest where they are confronted with both conspiracy and mystery. Their challenge is to unite their mind and body skills together utilizing what they have learned in the martial arts with the transcendental power of dream mediation. They attempt to do this while they are trying to make a life for themselves and elude those that seek to use and control them.
